Idleness

"I must be idle."

Welcome to my blog!

If you like my stuff, read, comment, subscribe to the blog. You'll find blog posts on a variety of subjects, but since I'm an author it's perhaps not too surprising that there's a fair number of posts about writing, books, and authors. No book reviews, though: they're on my Patreon, along with other bookish posts and more behind-the-scenes posts about my books and characters, as well as large amounts of fiction every month.

It’s a great day when…

Updated: Jul 15, 2019

It’s a great start to the day when you look out the front window first thing in the morning and see a spacecraft fly over the house! That’s what happened this morning when the space shuttle Endeavour left Houston atop a 747 on its way to California. This was my second morning seeing the shuttle. I spent a couple of hours yesterday morning in the front yard, ostensibly gardening, but really just watching and waiting for the shuttle, hoping it would fly over my neighborhood as it did a “grand tour” of the Houston area on the way to a refueling stop at Ellington Field. I saw it! This wasn’t the first time I’ve seen the shuttle pass over, but it will be the last. This time I got a fairly decent pic of it passing over the neighborhood.
